1. General Tips using the WYSIWYG editor? You can cut and paste into the editor. However, we recommend that you DO NOT cut and paste from MS Word, or similar programs. These programs include large amounts of hidden data that will produce unexpected, and undesirable results. If you are cutting from this type of document, first paste it into an simple text editor such as NotePad, and then cut and paste from that document into the WYSIWYG. This produces much better results. 2. What is the Metadata section for? When adding or editing your listing, you will see a Metadata section at the very bottom of the editor page. Although they will not be seen by the public, these elements are extremely important in SEO (search engine optimization), and help your listing be found, not only by the search feature built into this site, but also by the major search engines.
In the first part, the description, you should enter a one (1) sentence description of your business or organization. It should thoroughly describe your operations, goals, and objectives. In the second part, keywords, enter all the keywords that might be important to someone who is searching for your page or site. Be sure to include things such as: glbt, lgbt, glbt friendly, gay friendly, etc. 3. How do I edit my listing? Once your listing has been approved by one of our editors and published, you will be able to make modifications to that listing. To do so, simply log in to your account and find your listing using the search function.
Near the upper-right corner of your listing, you will see an icon with a pencil and paper (see above). Click on this icon, and it will open up the WYSIWYG editor that you used to originally create your listing. Be sure to save your listing once edits have been made. |
