We are located near the village of Pahoa in the heart of Puna, the Big Island's most alternative district.  Hilo airport is 30 minutes away by car. Within very short drives are natural steam vents, the current lava flows, thermal lagoons, tide pools for snorkeling, fishing, secluded ocean-side picnic areas, the island's only clothing-optional beach, a large non-chlorinated public swimming pool, restaurants, stores and services, farmers markets, and much more. Volcanoes National Park is less than an hour's drive from Dakini Gardens. We're near many other attractions on the windward side of Hawai'i's Big Island.

•  rent one or both of our vacation retreat huts, Vajra and Ratna, up to 2 guests each.
•       or stay in our 20x20' dormitory coverall, bring your own sleeping gear.
•  or use one or more of our secluded tent sites, bring your own tent and gear.
