www.incambridge.com I have renovated two rooms in my home. Please, look at the photos and maps on the web site. They each have a private entrance. Thank you for considering Cameron Inn. ACCOMMODATIONS: Both rooms have wireless DSL, DVD plalyers and very nice LCD HDTVs, kitchen facilities (adequate for breakfast or a small meal), irons & boards, refrigerators, small vacuums and hair driers, and, of course, fresh towels and linens. Our folk victorian house was build around 1886 but is totally renovated and has central AC and heating controlled with the (hot/cold air) vents in the floor. The FRONT SUITE is at the front of my house on the first floor and offers a private entrance. My living space is totally separate and I use the back entrance. There are two (twin) beds in the front bedroom and they can be pushed together, bridged and fastened as a king sized bed if you ask in advance. There is a lamp and a little table between the beds. Next to the beds are a six-foot closet and a 24” LCD television and VCR, a DVD player with a remote. I do not have cable TV but we can pick up most of the local channels with the antenna. Outside the bedroom door is a kitchenette including a small refrigerator, bar sink, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven. kitchen utensils and china. The WC (lavatory) is next to this and includes a small sink and hand towels. There are two large double hung windows in this airy room with flower boxes on both windows. There is a shower in the room and lots of towels are available. Next to the shower are a vanity table and a large mirror. There is the private cordless phone and answering system. Your private number is 617-576-2417. Local calls are free but you must pay for long distance. The private entrance to the GARDEN ROOM is gained through the side gate and up the ramp. The French Doors open into a newly renovated room with Maple trim. The ramp makes the room 'accessible'; however the room is too small for a wheelchair. It is totally separate from my living quarters. There is a double bed in the Garden Room and a connected bathroom with a shower and towels. It has a clock radio, small desk, folding ironing board and iron etc. There is a double hung window next to the large mirror. It is a small room but also includes cooking facilities The number on the private line is 617-864-7164. Local calls are free but you must pay for long distance. There is a new TV and DVD player with an antenna but we get about 30 stations pretty well. NEIGHBORHOOD My house is about a third of a mile from Davis Square. That's a brisk five-minute walk. Davis Square is on the Red Line, the main line for the Boston public transportation or the "T" There is a large bus station for electric busses next to my house. Busses are more scenic but slower. There are many eating-places and nightspots in Davis Square and it is considered by the Boston Globe to be the "hippest" place in town. We have lots of live music Rock, Traditional Folk and Blues and Contemporary Jazz. In addition to the shows at the local clubs and pubs there is a theater with four cinemas and an auditorium for live performances that have included Bruce Springstine (Really), Donavan and Joan Biaz. Harvard Square is two stops on the Subway and MIT is between three and four stops. The fifth stop is Mass. General Hospital then into downtown Boston and South Station. Rounder Records is across the street from us. They have a private library that houses the largest collection of folk music in the world (no retail outlet). There also is a public library branch a short walk away. Symphony Hall, all the many concert halls, museums and historic sights are accessible on the "T". LOCATION: The numbers on Cameron Avenue are redundant; they start at both ends. We are near Massachusetts Avenue. Massachusetts Avenue (Rte 2A) is thirty yards away and leads to Rte 16 (three lights) if you go west. Rte 16 North goes to Revere Beach and is an alternative route to the airport but should be avoided during rush hour. Rte. 2 is south on 16. It is one light south of the corner of Massachusetts Avenue. We do not serve breakfast, but there are cooking facilities in both rooms. Front Room Rates: Single nightly $75 Single weekly $375 Double nightly $85 Double weekly $400 Garden Room Rates Nightly $70 Weekly $350 We now have wireless DSL high speed internet. RESERVATIONS: I need a deposit check, traveler's check, bank draft, Western Union or money order in dollars for 20% of the rate to secure reservations. If you call or E-mail I will hold your reservations for about a week or however long we estimate it will take the check to travel to Cambridge. Make all Checks or Money Orders out to CC&C. The entire amount for your stay must be paid in advance on arrival or a day after arrival unless other arrangements have been made. I will, of course, accept cash and out of state checks. Credit cards are problematic. Deposits are not refundable. A deposit will be charged even for nights cancelled after arrival. DIRECTIONS: SUBWAY: from Logan Airport Coming from the airport you can take the (new) Silver Line to South Station. Then take the Red Line to Davis Square. WALKING: from Davis Square T-Stop: From the Holland Street side, leave the station by the Mecham Street exit door. Follow the path directly in front of you between the trees and sculptures.
