Seacoast Outright presents Art2Go

The Seacoast Outright Organization will be having their 8th Annual Art2Go Party Event on July 19th starting at 4:30pm

It's a wonderful event for a wonderful cause.  You just go and buy your entry ticket for $125. and you are randomly selected to go up and choose your piece of art to take home with you!  Guests can also attend for $25. but don't get to take home any artwork!!  Limited tickets available so hurry up and get yours!

The Meadowbrook Pavilion presents two fantastic concerts in the first week of July.  On July 5th, Melissa Etheridge and NH's own Kelley Morris and the Fallen Free.  And on July 8th, you can see the classic icon Donna Summer.  Be sure to check out Meadowbrook's Website for all their great concerts.

Rev Gene Robinson

The Rev Gene Robinson has become the first gay Bishop to be wed to his partner Mark Andrew this month.  St Paul's church in Concord was the site for both his civil ceremony and religious ceremony.  About 120 friends and family attended the event which occurred exactly 5 years after he became the Bishop for New Hampshire.

In an interview with PinkNews.co.uk published earlier this month Bishop Robinson spoke about the ceremony.

"We're not having a wedding, but the law provides for a civil union," he said.

"It provides about 400 of the 1100 rights and protections that heterosexual marriage offers, so it's not equal, it's not equality, but it's certainly a step forward.

"And frankly the reason I'm doing it at this time is that there is every reason to believe that my life will be in danger at the Lambeth conference.

"There are lots of crazy people out there and you know more and more crazy people are turning to violence.

"And so I'm not willing to put my life at risk without taking advantage of what protections I can put in place, in a civil union for my partner and family. I think that's what any wife or husband would do."

California Courts Rule for Gay Marriages

On May 15th the California courts have ruled that same-sex couples have the same right to marry as opposite-sex couples under the California State Constitution.  Unfortunately the wonderful "Religious Right" is mounting an attack to pass an amendment to the state constitution to outlaw the ruling.  This could have a serious blowback effect on not just California but everywhere.  So if you can help support the ballot efforts happening in California now!
